Mixed Media Although my first love is painting, Mixed media fills that void to just go crazy and push the envelope, if you will.  My canvas pieces have a dream like quality and taunt the imagination.  Most of the items imbedded are found objects or old photographs, I had for years, not knowing how or when I would use them, until now.  Sometimes an old wooden box can be used to create a "shrine".  When this happens, treasures of all kinds show up in it, like the "Imagine" shrine for seamstresses. Fiber is another area I can't resist. There is a unmistakable joy in painting your own fabric and seeing the different colors and effects when it dries.  I then, fold and manipulate the fabric into roses or sew into hearts, embellishing the piece with hand  embroidery and beads.  Click on the thumbnails at the left and enjoy!     Bernadette
